Monday 6/8/09

Back to it. I realize its been a long time and many of you have asked about the blog and running. I haven't done anything prolonged in a long time. We ran a 5k in May in New Orleans that was a lot of fun, but was very hot. I told myself it was too hot and would give myself a heartattack to keep at it. I realize that was stupid, so I'm back at training and trying to stay healthy. A lot slower this time because it really is very hot and in all seriousness, I really don't want to injure myself.

I've decided to include my meals and snacks as well to keep up with that in written form. I have decided to do a high protein diet to get this off fast. Not full Atkins, but similar (not all pork, sausage, and cheeseburgers). Good bit of chicken, fish, greens, whole grains, etc. I welcome any advice from anyone on the diet.

Today we went to the Trace (all 3 of us). We walked ran the first mile. KeithAnn is really liking the running and is doing very well with it. She kept running to Clyde (3.2 miles). I turned back and walked to the truck with the baby in the stroller. Doesn't sound like much, but I really enjoyed being out and moving around. It really wasn't nearly as hot as I thought it would be and those 2 miles went by fairly fast and easy.

More to come tomorrow. Oh yeah, scale reads 327.

  1. If you want some good ideas for food get the Zone book. Em also got a book the other day that is called "eat this not that". Gives you some good ideas for fast food.
Keep at it. I told you not to go too fast last time. Build up. We call it 'rachet training'. Add for a few days then back off. Add again, back off. Keep going a little more each time. The biggest mistake is not knowing when to quit. You can't train at all if you're injured (or having a heart attack)
